Explore and get amongst Australia's last Wilderness Frontier

The Kimberley Region could be described as one of the last areas where adventure minded travellers can still go to experience the true Australian wilderness. No big crowds, no big tour buses, just us and a few other like-minded adventure travelers also wanting to be part of this mind boggling part of Australia.

Off the highways and into the wide blue yonder

Unlike our 6 Day Kimberley Escape which mainly follows the sealed highways between Broome and Darwin, our 9 Day Kimberley 4WD tour gets us off the beaten track onto the famous Gibb River Road further to the north. This way you really do get that feeling of isolation amongst the true Aussie outback.

See some of Australia's most sophisticated rock art

We'll get to view some of the much vaunted Bradshaw rock paintings which have been spoken in the same breath as Chauvet, Lascaux', Nefertari's Tomb, Matisse, the Impressionists, etc, such is their detail and form. We also see plenty of local Wandjina rock art which is quite different again and unique to this part of Australia.

You'll get the opportunity to go on a helicopter flight (optional) over Purnululu National Park, home of the world famous Bungle Bungles. We also visit the million acre El Questro Station where we can explore parts of the station and swim in the crystal clear waters of Emma Gorge, El Questro Gorge, Amalia Gorge and relax in the thermal pools of Zebedee Hot Springs. For some high octane adventure, we also embark on some caving at Tunnel Creek, a 750 metre long cave system complete with bats.

Small Groups in tough 4-Wheel Drive Vehicles

Our vehicles carry a maximum of 21 passengers. (The Wednesday departure is a code share with Western Xposure)

This is not a tour for those into soft adventure. Getting into the real Kimberley is full on adventure where road conditions are often very poor and travelling can be slow going. However, there are huge rewards for those up for it and it will be a tour that will stay with you a lifetime.
